If you are anything like I, you buy electronics to have them go along with you when you are traveling. The best way to do this is to fold the chords of the products and pack them tightly to take them along. However, the problem with this is that if you continue to use this method then you will end up shorting out the connection with the electronics and it will no longer work at all.

I have had five pairs of iPod headphones and I have spent well over $ 150 on these only to discover that I was treating my electronics wrong. If you are going to make your iPod headphones without having to spend such a large amount of replacements then there is a few simple things you need to know. Electronic items are not hard to maintain however, I find that the iPod headphones require a lot of care, which is not expressed to you when you purchase them from the store. These are the best ways to make sure that your iPod headphones will last along with your iPod player.

1) You should clean the headphones at least two times a month because if they are dirty you will see a fast reduction in sound quality that you experience. They will also sound longer and operate as if they need to be replaced. You can stop this from happening but cleaning them while a cotton ball of alcohol and gripping the bud of the headphone to remove any buildup. This will take anything off with a few motions and your sound quality will improve.

2) When you are storing your headphones you will need to make sure that you wrap them around the iPod from the top to the bottom of the player. It should be done this was so that the wires are not knotted which will eventually cause a break down of your headphones that would cause them to short out.

3) Make sure that you do not turn the volume of the headphones up on a constant basis. I previously did this and when I took them in to be looked at I was told that I had blown out the headphones with the excessive volume. So, if you want to avoid this you should limit the volume that you do use.

With a little work you will be able to make your iPod headphones last, this may seem like an unnecessary but you need to remember they are very expensive so if you want the Apple quality then you will need to treat the, right.
